We’re looking for a meticulous and creative Newsletter Content Specialist to join our team and help us deliver high-quality newsletters each week.

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful Newsletter Content Specialist who will be responsible for the complete creation of our Thursday newsletter. This role involves researching and capturing the details of local events, writing and formatting events into the newsletter, and ensuring that everything is completed on time and to a high standard. You’ll also be responsible for other copywriting as needed, including writing ad copy that aligns with our tone and voice and is tailored to the needs of our advertising partners and sponsors.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and capture local events, from well-known annual happenings to quirky and lesser-known gatherings.
• Complete creation of the Thursday newsletter, from researching events to writing, formatting, and scheduling into the newsletter.
• Collaborate with the editor, Marissa, to review and finalize the newsletter before publication.
• Write ad copy for businesses and events that advertise with From Boise, ensuring it matches our voice while catering to the advertiser's needs and goals.
• Meet strict and unchanging deadlines, ensuring the newsletter is completed and ready for publication on Thursday afternoon each week.
• Other copywriting projects as needed.

• Must be familiar with From Boise’s newsletter.
• Exceptional research skills with the ability to uncover both popular and niche local events.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to catch even the smallest details in event descriptions and catch errors in copy.
• Highly deadline-oriented, with a proven track record of delivering work on time.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining close communication and collaboration with the editor.
